Aluminium plate products are in great demand in the transportation market. Aluminium’s advantage over other materials stems from the combination of these key properties: It is corrosion resistant, light weight and can be welded and formed easily.

Our aluminium plate is also used in other industries including automotive, electrical, semi-conductor, vacuum chamber, pneumatic, machine and mould building as well as in the defence industry.

Hulamin’s aluminium plate products are certified by all the major classification societies, such as Det Norske Veritas (DNV), the American Bureau of Shipping, Lloyds Register EMEA and TUV Rheinland.

M82 Precision Plate

M61 Plate (North America)

Industry in the demanding North American market has standardised on the use of aluminium alloy 6061 as its primary plate grade for machining applications.

We designed our M61 plate to meet an exacting blend of exceptional attributes that deliver consistent and excellent machinability. Hulamin’s M61 is a machinable plate that offers gauge and flatness tolerances to tighter than 0.5AA specifications, together with enhanced surface finish and post machining stability.

M61 plate – like its M82 cousin – is:

T500 Tanker Plate

Our T500 plate is designed for use in the tanker market and is especially suited to road tankers used in the transport of inflammable substances.

Made from our own Hulamin 5182 alloy, T500 is a superior structural alloy with outstanding characteristics of strength and formability. These result in improved toughness and a greater ability to withstand impacts.

T500 enables the use of aluminium sheet in gauges as low as 5mm, and complies with the requirements of EN 14286.

5083 Marine Plate

Hulamin has years of experience in the marine market and in the proper use of aluminium products in the aggressive marine environment.

Hulamin’s alloy 5083 plate is known for its exceptional strength and performance in extreme environments. Our plate is resistant to attack by both sea water and harsh industrial chemical environments.  It retains exceptional strength after welding and performs superbly during laser cutting.  It has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys produced by Hulamin.

We hold certification from ABS, DNV and Lloyds Register of Shipping for our 5083 plate.

5086 Marine Plate (North America)

Hulamin supplies alloy 5086 for marine applications to the North American market.  This is the alloy generally specified by the ship and craft building industry.

Hulamin’s alloy 5086 plate exhibits superior strength and corrosion resistance in the extreme marine environment. The plate retains specified strength with ease after welding and performs well during laser cutting. 

We hold certification from ABS, DNV and Lloyds Register of Shipping for our 5086 plate.
