Hulamin has been actively involved in Employment Equity and Affirmative Action on a formal basis since 1987.
Employment equity overlaps with our fundamental employee values and beliefs, which include:
- Establish and develop employees that are superior to that of our best international competitors.
- Recognise that special interventions are required to rectify situations resulting from Blacks having been historically disadvantaged in South Africa.
- Create a work environment conducive to learning.
- Provide consistent and ample opportunity for professional and personal growth and progress of all employees.
The employment equity areas of focus include:
- upliftment of skills of employees at all levels
- improve the number of Africans at middle management level and above
- improve women representation
- increase the representation of people with disabilities
- manage cultural diversity
- eliminate racial pockets
- increase the representation of white weekly paid employees
